i find the results of this odd--a majority of the people that posted said that mesmer is in there top favorites, yet mesmer seems to be the least played profession.
what i like about the mes---if your set up as anti-melle, warriors, assassins, and rangers stand no chance against you. if your set up as anti-caster, elementalists, necros, monks and even other mesmers dont stand a chance against you.

Favorite Class:
Dervish. Playing this class is a balancing art. You constantly maintaining your enchantments and striking down foes while trying to keep yourself alive. Yes Dervish can take damage, but for every defensive option you have there is only a split second to recast an enchantment or choose to choose use a melee skill to deal damage. When I first started learning this class I would agonize my bar, trying to find a balance of staying alive and dealing pain. Dervish are a true skill required melee classes and can't tank with natural armor. Theres nothing like getting hit by a total rend and finding a recast of mirage cloak at the last second to save yourself from the eviscerate coming your way, then hitting vital boon and mystic sandstorm to deal damage and KO the warrior while you back out with aura of thorns to snare a nearby monk running away from your assassin. You need inhuman awarness of your surroundings to play a good derv.
Least Favorite Class:
None really... I like them all.

For their skills and the possibilities they allow, I can't pick a favorite out of them all. So, for secondaries, all of them!
For primary, I've played a fair amount with Ranger, Mesmer, Necro, and Monk so far. I enjoy them all, and I'll likely enjoy the others when I get around to starting them. Ranger was first and the title holder, so she gets the most experience. Still, I wouldn't say I like playing the Ranger more or less than I like playing the others.
Mesmer is extra special for having the biggest gap between (generally) expected and actual potential ... thanks to Dumbam. (Though I still wonder why ... if he's the reason so many think mesmers are useless, how come more people don't think monks are useless thanks to Alesia???)
The only class I've tried as primary and not liked is the Assassin. I know! I agree! Done well they can be just wonderfully evil in all sorts of ways ... but the way they run ... oy! It drives me nuts to see that in the center of the screen all the time - I just can't get into playing it myself.
